A Coffee and Hey - It's Friday!
There has been a boil water order in effect in my neck of the woods since Wednesday due to a mixture of high water turbidity and high water runoff due to the Chinook winds we were all enjoying to the max over the weekend. Children were frolicking, birds were singing, and the owners of car washes were bringing in the moola. Who’s laughing now?
Mother Nature is, that’s who, along with sellers of bottled/purified water.
To show you where priorities lie for my husband and I in the midst of this: I was boiling water Wednesday night, and after topping up the water reservoir on our Keurig Jeff said, “Well, that will carry us at least through tomorrow, so we’re good.”
Some other true stories:
As happy of an introvert as I am (finally) coming to be, I still find myself struggling with a desire to be in the “in” crowd, to be part of the “popular” group of people, whether it’s at church or on social media and the like. So Ed Cyzewski’s post at A Deeper Story was just the gentle smack upside the head I needed. Because you know what? It truly isn’t cool to hate the popularity bubble.
My work schedule changed for the umpteenth time, and again it happened as I was (also for the umpteenth time) buckling down with developing a regular writing schedule. As such, I should probably put Andi Cumbo-Floyd’s interview with Billy Coffey somewhere where I can see it every day. (Though unlike Coffey, I’m working on getting an hour of writing time in first thing in the morning.)
Happy Friday, all!
