A Coffee and Some Summer Plans Friday
How do trips always sneak up on you? Seriously. Worse than my cat when I’m trying to eat a piece of cheese without him noticing so I don’t have to share it. You plan, you finally start packing, and all of a sudden it’s super-close and you don’t feel prepared and are hoping you’ve photocopied everything and do you need all these toiletries (yes!) … It’s a bit stressful. But then I look around me and I realize if the worst of my current struggle is trying to pack light while not forgetting anything truly important for a three-week vacation, I actually don’t have anything to be truly stressed about.
So … yeah.
Perspective - I need to adjust mine. Often.

While I finish getting ready for this trip with my older sister and her daughter, I’ll also be spending as much time as I can with Jeff and family and friends I won’t be seeing for 3 whole weeks. Oh, there will be phone calls and texts wherever possible, and social media updates and e-mails as Wi-Fi and data plans allow, but still. I’m glad Jeff is allowing me this chance to fulfill a long-held dream to visit some of these places. And I’m already hoping to revisit them and check out new ones with him. So with all that going on, this will be my last blog update in all likelihood until July 27th. Because when I get back from my trip, it’s off to my church’s family camp.
I will post on my Facebook page here and there, but I think it’s best I keep giving myself enough space to get ready and just be with people.
So until then, I hope you have many happy Fridays and days in between. Thank you, thank you, thank you for reading my ramblings, and I look forward to catching up when I’m back home and settled in once again.
Happy summer, all!
