A NaNoWriMo Update
One of the scary things about the month of November (aside from NaNoWriMo, that is) is there are a number of blog posts that go straight into WordPress. There is no Word document to help me check things like grammar and odd typos. It's just me, a screen, and (hopefully) words. Actually, it does dovetail quite nicely with NaNoWriMo. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
Speaking of NaNoWriMo, I have hit the dip in a big way this week. I'm in the "I Hate My Story, I Should Quit Working on It, and Never Do NaNoWriMo Again" stage. I think I'm less irritable in this stage than I have been in years past, but I am struggling as much as I ever have before in this leg of the journey. Plus, all my incomplete/unedited stories are haunting/taunting me. As people kindly appreciate the short personal essay I recently had published, I'm also hearing how maybe I should just quit trying to write novels because, really, where has that got me besides nowhere?
Good times. Only not really.
So I'm really not sure where things are going to be by the end of this week. Time will tell, I guess.
