A Finish Year Playlist
I used to really like making mixed tapes. It was fun to take songs from various albums and put them together for friends or family or even myself, making sure the songs fit together in their new amalgamation.
And with iTunes, it’s easy to make the equivalent of a mixed tape via playlists. I haven’t used the Genius playlist function very much as I prefer scrolling through my song library for ‘just the right song’ to add. I have a couple of playlists for running, one to help me relax if I can’t sleep, and some that were thrown together as I grew tired of searching for certain favourites at one time or another.
Here are three current selections* from my Finish Year playlist:
- Let Me Feel You Shine – David Crowder*Band: With lines like “What I need is for You to put me back on my feet” and “I swear I’m trying to give everything/but I fear I’m falling, oh make me believe” and I must ask how this could not be on a Finish Year playlist? Exactly – which is why it has been played at least once daily for the past week (and counting).
- Outta Space Love – Group 1 Crew: This song moves, and in a year requiring some serious hustle, a song like this is like an auditory caffeine boost.
- Life in Technicolor ii – Coldplay: I came across this song last November. The video, I will confess, tickled my fancy. It has a great build and I don’t know – it just really motivates me to keep going whether running or gearing myself up for the next item on my ‘to do’ list.
*This playlist currently has 55 songs on it. I make playlists like I pack for a trip – I try to be ready for anything. ;-)
