Pondering in Progress
I’m sitting here, listening to Needtobreathe’s new album Rivers in the Wasteland and being wonderfully distracted from the task at hand. Namely, unwrapping this following passage from the Bible:
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.” -2 Corinthians 13:11 (ESV)
As soon as I heard it, it began to percolate in my heart for not only does it tie in quite well to last Wednesday’s post Love Not Drama, but it is making me think about how I interact with those around me. Do I aim for restoration? How well do I offer comfort to others? I know I don’t agree with everyone – what does the apostle Paul (the writer of this missive) mean by that particular bit? And peace? Well, I’m not there … yet.
Yes, this is still taking root in me as I hold it up to look at it from different angles, seeing what sharp parts of me the light bounces off of and which parts are close to being smoothed out. As such, I’m going to end today’s post here, as awkward as it feels to do so.
I’ll see you on Friday, and maybe I’ll have something more to share with you in relation to the above scripture next week.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this tune:
