Ah, technology – oft-times a delightful boon that is used with nary a thought or frustration be it for work, entertainment, or to figure out if you have the bubonic plague/sniffles.
UNTIL IT DOES NOT WORK.
Images are not found. Passwords are ‘incorrect’. Server or Wi-Fi connections drop for no known reason.
This is how the robot invasion could very well start, y’all. They’ll wear us down with all these minor major frustrations until we’re begging for relief and then making all kinds of concessions we would never even dream of in our saner, everything-loads-in-two-seconds moments.
Unless, of course, one encounters kind, helpful people like Dayton from Apple Support who was helping me figure out why the #images function had ceased working on my iPhone (Turns out it’s an issue with the servers in Canada – this does not fall under NAFTA, so what gives, Amercia??). He was patient, appreciated a joke I sent in an e-mail exchange, and, like me, has bouts of typing dyslexia. He didn’t make me feel like a goof for chasing down an answer to this admittedly minor issue, and for that I give my thanks.
And really, if we have more guys like Dayton helping us with our technological issues big and small, the robot invasion is going to have to seriously rethink things.
