A Bad Plan and a Good Movie
So I’ve been away from here for a bit, thanks to a mash-up of extra hours at work, a cold, and a plan to cut back on blogging in order to work on my novel idea. And I realized (at last) my decision to scale back on blogging was not a well thought-out plan. You see I need the structure and routine of putting out three blog posts per week. And if NaNoWriMo has taught me anything, it’s that I write more when I, well, write more. All that is to say I will be back to posting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as of next week.
Now as I mentioned in the first paragraph, I had a cold last week – a cold that had me calling in sick to work. And that’s not a common occurrence for me (thank God, because I hate it). But there was a silver lining to this, for it afforded me the opportunity to watch a movie I may not have checked out otherwise: How to Steal a Million starring Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole. The only other Hepburn film I had watched before this was the classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s (at the insistence of one of my aunts), and I had not seen any of Peter O’Toole’s work. But I must say this was a fun and enjoyable movie. Audrey was beautiful and charming (as always), and Peter was more than up for the challenge. Check out a summary of the movie here and see the dynamic duo in action in a collection of clips set to a rather fitting musical selection here.
And if you have any classic movies you feel I would be remiss in not watching, then please share them below. Netflix and iTunes make my viewing library conveniently larger and accessible. Thanks!
