A Coffee and a Netflix Find Friday

A Coffee and a Netflix Find Friday

Over the last few years or so when a good television show has been discovered in my household, it has been found by my husband. He was the first one to watch Eureka, The Big Bang Theory, and Doctor Who to name (literally) a few. But approximately three weeks ago I was scrolling through the Netflix queue on a Friday evening and decided to check out a TV comedy by the name of Community. We're in the free trial period of Netflix, so I figured if we didn't like the show it only cost us about 22 minutes of our time. I hadn't heard much about the series, but Chevy Chase is one of the regular cast members. I figured it was worth a shot, so I clicked 'play' on the pilot episode and we both settled in. Well.

It was good.

So good, in fact, that in three weeks my husband and I have watched not only season one (the only season available on Netflix Canada), we also picked up season two on DVD. And we finished watching that this past Monday. We also decided we are okay with starting season three at the halfway point as it returned to the NBC lineup last night. (Wikipedia will tell us what we need to know to fill in any blanks.)

Seriously, if any of the shows mentioned at the beginning appeal to you, you need to check out Community. It is well-cast, well-acted, and very well-written. But don't simply take my word for it. If you have four minutes and 29 seconds to spare, watch the recap from NBC of the pilot episode:

Now check your local listings and watch. this. show on Thursday nights! I'd like to see this group finish college!
