A Coffee and Some Things of Note Friday

A Coffee and Some Things of Note Friday

To me, it’s always fun to come across something that has caught my attention or spoken to me or made me laugh and then share it with others. Here are a few things from this week:

  • We’ve all heard it (and probably said it) before: “If you’re not reading _____’s blog, you should be.” You may now add Michael D. Perkins’ blog The Handwritten to that list. He (and guest posters) will write posts out by hand, which are then scanned and posted on Michael’s site. They’re short, they’re powerful, and in the case of “Travel Agents & Tour Guides”, they may also be typed. Straying from the usual form, though, really works with this post.
  • I may get a few disapproving looks for this, but I have not read anything by Madeline L’Engle. However, I will be remedying that situation as soon as possible upon the recommendation of fellow blogger Andrea Ward, who has many good things to say about Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art. Amazon, here I come!
  • I’m late to the party on this one by quite a bit, but that has not diminished my enjoyment this week of the music of Switchfoot. I downloaded The Best Yet collection from iTunes, and so far Oh! Gravity, Stars, Dare You to Move, and Twenty-four are on heavy rotation.
