A Coffee and Some Writer-ly Things Friday
I’ve gone back-and-forth a bit on how to open today’s post, and have presently decided to just dive right in with the list of things I’ve come across (and in one case contributed to) over the past week or two that caught my attention:
- ChurchMag had a fun link they found via HarperCollins that posited the fun question “What if some of the great authors of our time had Instagram accounts?” I think you’ll get a kick out of what the folks at HarperCollins came up with.
- In a similar vein, Writer’s Digest has an article by Celia Blue Johnson that takes a look at the quirky workplaces of 13 famous writers. (I find myself thinking an inkpot and a maid would be lovely . . .)
- One of my favourite writers, Andi Cumbo (now Andi Cumbo-Floyd), graciously opened up her blog to guest posts as she prepared for her wedding and embarked on her honeymoon. I wrote about getting stuck in the middle, and am honoured to have been amongst a fine company of writers during Andi’s time away.
- National Novel Writing Month is on the horizon, you guys! I already have an idea settling itself into my writer-ly percolator, and have enjoyed checking out the spiffed-up site where my fellow adventurers congregate. Check it out and let me know if you decide to give it a go. :-)
To wrap things up, here is the latest rockumentary from The Digital Age where they do a delightful spoof of Duck Dynasty:
Happy Friday, everyone! :-)
