A Community in Action
I saw a wonderful display of community in action this past weekend. I would love to share the details with you all, but as I worked on this post, I realized it’s more important that I respect of the privacy of the people involved. Blog posts come and go, after all, and a relationship mishandled may be lost forever.
Suffice it to say, it’s a great thing to see the body of Christ in action, to see people stepping in to help out those in need, whether it’s to pay for groceries or celebrate an upcoming wedding or to help out with the church service without complaint. Sure, there may be some stress involved. Nerves may even be frayed. But God provides, and He did so again this weekend for a fair number of people.
We really do need one another. And love really can, in the words of Matt Maher in the song Hold Us Together, make us a shelter to weather the storm.
I sometimes forget this, and it was good to be reminded of it again.
P.S. I plan to be back to a bit longer blog updates in the next week or so once I return to my regular work schedule and get a couple of Finish Year things taken care of. In the meantime, here’s a funny little 'squirrel' to distract you. ;)
