A New Home

In what was (for me) a spur of the moment decision, I moved my blog from WordPress to Squarespace. I was regretting my decision the next day when I couldn't fix an issue I was having, but after a few evenings of plunking down in front of my computer with Squarespace's help section and various Google tabs open, I've started figuring things out. Everything is not arranged quite the way I want it yet, however. And one thing I may never fix is the shifted dates on the posts I imported here from WordPress. (It seems Squarespace would rather pay attention the dates I entered my posts into WordPress and not the dates I scheduled them to post. This really messes up my "A Coffee and a Friday" series.)

On the whole, however, I think this move will be a good one. I like the visual components of this template, and Squarespace is interesting to work with. Plus I have a sweet new logo and tagline you may have noticed following you around as you scroll through the pages here. (Hello, branding?) Jeff said he didn't find it distracting, and I'm getting used to it, so I hope you will too as there's no getting rid of it with this template. ;-)

Going forward, I'm not sure how often I will be posting new content. I've debated moving to once a week to allow more time for another writing project. But I'm in the midst of a time tracking project in a bid to better utilize my time, so I want to wait on making a decision until I know what kinds of writing hours I have to access.

What do you think of the new digs? I hope you take a look around, get familiar with things. And if you have any thoughts on how often you'd like to see new content here, feel free to drop me a note in the comments, on my Facebook page, or on Twitter.
