I Like Graphic Tees (I Will Not Lie)
I like graphic T-shirts. This is not a shocking revelation to anyone who knows me in 3D life, mind you. I have merrily shown up at church with T-shirts from gapingvoid, Think Geek, or threadless under blazers. Before that – while I was cleaning houses via my own cleaning business – it was largely NaNoWriMo T-shirts that would make an appearance along with the mops and the buckets.
So yes, I like graphic T-shirts. Even as various magazine articles and TV stylists would recommend saving them for camping trips in the boonies or the gym, I wear mine out in public on a regular basis.
I’m not trying to look like my 14-year-old self. I’m not trying desperately to be “hip” or “cool”.
Wearing them is simply an expression of “me”. At least it is at this point in time. I really can’t say what I’ll be thinking about such things in 10 or 20+ years. Times, people, and style choices change after all. It’s a part of life.
But for right now? It’s a way to help me express my likes and interests, to show people a bit of my personality, of my sense of humour. And yes, even my sense of style. Which is why I’m looking at making some additions to my collection after retiring a few stalwarts. So I may be sporting a Beaker beaker, a bit of motivation, and/or something that simply makes me giggle in the future.
You have been warned.
