Request a Haiku Day
It's National Haiku Writing Month. I did not know that until I googled "national write a haiku day". I did know, however, that the haiku is not necessarily composed of three lines with 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third. But the point of today's post is not to get into the nitty-gritty of haiku writing. No, it's something much more fun than that.
(At least I hope you'll think it's fun . . .)
Based on an idea Jamie over at Jamie's Rabbits "borrowed" from someone else, I am offering to do the following for my just-invented Request a Haiku Day:
I will send you a haiku via a postcard.
That's right. I will write you your own "5-7-5" haiku and send it to you in the mail if you follow these two easy steps:
- Write "yes" in your comment below along with what you would like your haiku to be about. Reasonable requests will not be denied (and if I absolutely cannot think of something, I'll ask you for another idea). Unreasonable requests will be denied.
- E-mail me your mailing address at (removed as offer now closed).
