Sweet (Peaceful) Spots

Sweet (Peaceful) Spots

Sometimes when I run, I hit the proverbial sweet spot.Strides – strong and steady. Breaths are even and deep. (Sensations of flight tease the periphery.)

Sometimes when I work on writing/writing-related things I hit the proverbial sweet spot. Facebook and Twitter – silent. Ideas and words are mulled over, tweaked. A firm, steady peace settles along the periphery.

Yet in later moments I wonder if I’m doing the right thing. I can’t trust my deceitful heart (even as I know as I think in my heart, so I am).

Still on the periphery . . . Peace past all understanding. Guarding my heart and mind. And the words – the breaths – return. Both are a little more steady and sure.

Sweet.
