The Importance of Not Travelling Alone

The Importance of Not Travelling Alone

I was away from blog-related things over the weekend, hence the lack of a Monday update. My husband’s and mine weekend was filled with family, friends, and a few too many carbs. And we enjoyed pretty near every minute of it (and all the delicious calories)!. It was a nice mental break for me, too, as I’ve been feeling a certain restlessness as of late. I can’t quite pin it down, never mind affix any sort of a label to it. But, as I believe only God can do, others travelling this road have provided some direction and insight to serve as road markers on this particular stretch. So today, I want to say thanks to:

  • Chad Jones, for talking about ‘the fear of being outside’.
  • Leanne Penny, for sharing about her misplaced worth which reminded me of how I misplace my own.
  • Shawn Smucker, for putting words to something I didn’t know I was feeling until, well, he put words to the feeling of ‘the weight of an unexpected emptiness’.
  • Pastor Frank Harms, for provoking us at ROC Christian Ministries to follow God with everything in us. As you shared last night, it can be far too easy to become focused on what we’re doing for God instead of focusing on God Himself. Thank you for helping those of us who had got turned around to get back on track.

You must encourage one another each day. And you must keep on while there is still a time that can be called “today.” If you don’t, then sin may fool some of you and make you stubborn. ~Hebrews 3:13 (CEV)

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. ~Hebrews 10:24 (NLT)
